Padnavamsha Dasha
Padnavamsa or Padnadamsa dasha is one of the dashas given to us by Jaimini rishi. In this dasha system, we use Navamsha chart to predict events. There are different ways to calculate this dasha as suggested by different scholars. In this article we are going to use the calculation suggested by Shri Ashutosh Bhardwaj. Shri Bhardwaj has written a book on this topics which is based on his research of many years.

This dasha is a multipurpose dasha which can be used to predict all kinds of events.

Padnavamsa Dasha
Event 1: Moved to Texas with Rodham in 1972
This event took place in 1972, which will be in Cancer dasha. Cancer is the sign of Moon which indicates travel. The Moon is in the 12th house of foreign. In navamsa, Cancer occupies the 7th house which indicates the life partner. Hence we can see events related to (future) wife (7H) and Travel (Moon) are indicated.
Cancer is aspected by Mercury which is BK hence indicates travel.
Event 2: Became One of the Youngest Governor of Arkansas
Election date November 7, 1978
Assumed office in January 9, 1979
Dasha would be of Scorpio sign.
Scorpio sign is aspected by the Sun - karaka of Government and Mars lord of 4th and 11th house. Scorpio sign falls in 11th house of gains. Mercury occupies this sign. Mercury is BK in this chart. BK has dual role, it acts as lord of 3rd and 9th house. 3rd house indicates courage, efforts and 9th house is the house of luck, fortune etc. For achieving success in government endeavors, blessing of the Sun, 10th house/lord and 5th house/lord is must. Here we see that Venus is 5L and 10L is in the sign of Mercury. This completes the requirement laid down by the rule.
Lets also consider Antar dasha.
The Antar dasha would be of Leo sign.The Leo sign is aspected by the Sun, Mars & Jupiter. All these 3 planets are representative of Government and help/benefits from government. Leo is the sign of the Sun. It falls in the 8th house of sudden events and Rahu occupies this sign.
Event 3: Losing election
Election: November 1980
Maha dasha will be Scorpio
Antar dasha would be Aries. Note that Aries and Scoprio are 1-8 to each other. Rahu / Ketu aspect Aries sign which can upset the power.
Event 4: Second terms as Governor
Election: November 1982
Term started in January 1983
Maha dasha will be Scorpio
At the time of election the dasha will be of Taurus which is the 5th house. Which is important for political success.
When the term started the antar dasha will be of Gemini sign. Here Venus occupies this sign. Venus is AmK and lord of 5th and 10th house thus meeting all conditions as laid down in the rule above.
Thereafter he continued to be re-elected and remained in the office till December 1992

Pisces and Sagittarius signs are aspected by Venus (5L, 10L and AmK) and Saturn (PK which acts as 5L) hence potent to give him political success.

Analysis: Cancer is the 7th house of marriage. It is aspected by Mercury(BK) and Ketu
Antar dasha: Gemini
Analysis: Venus - the natural karaka of Marriage occupies Gemini sign.
The Moon (AK) and Saturn (PK) are aspecting Gemini
Event 6: Child Birth
Only child Chelsea was born on February 27, 1980
Mahadasha: Scorpio
Antar dasha: Sagittarius
Sagittarius is the mool trikona sign of Jupiter - Karaka of progeny. It is aspected by Saturn (PK) and Venus (AmK). Moon (AK) occupies it. Relation of all 3 female planets lead to birth of a beautiful female child.
Event 7: President of the US
Assumed the office: January 20, 1993
Mahadasha: Leo
Antardasha: Sagittarius
Leo is aspected by the Sun, Mars and Jupiter. It is occupied by Rahu (good for change in Government). He defeated incumbent Republican party President George HW Bush.
Leo is the natural sign of power.
Sagittarius as discussed earlier, is occupied by Moon (a royal planet), aspected by Venus (AmK) and Saturn (PK). Combined aspect of AmK and PK is very good yoga. Similarly combined aspect of AK and PK is equally beneficial.

Mahadasha: Leo
Antar dasha: Aquarius
Aquarius is occupied by Ketu and Leo is occupied by Rahu. Both are of opposite nature. Rahu gave him recognition as a global leader and Ketu took him down. When analyzing the dashas of Rahu Ketu, we should also pay attention to their dispositors. Dispositor of Rahu is the Sun and Ketu is Saturn. Both are in 1-8 relationship with each other hence potentially reverse the effect of another planet.
Rahu is in the 8th house of scandals, sexual perversions etc.
Summary
As we can see from above example, we can predict almost all types of event using this dasha. This dasha system is very powerful and has many layers to it. Use of Dasha chakra along with this dasha will make predictions much more easy. This is a complete system in itself.
